BA (Honours) Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology

I have had 17 years experience as a clinical psychologist. After completing my masters’ degree in clinical psychology, I worked in various psychiatric hospitals for 8 years, and gained much experience in the treatment of:

-       Eating Disorders

-       Depression

-       Anxiety

-       Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

-       Schizophrenia

-       Bipolar Affective Disorder

-       Postnatal Depression

In 1994 I established a part-time private practice in Johannesburg, South Africa, where I provided individual therapy for the above presenting problems as well as couple therapy to those who were experiencing difficulties in their relationships.

In December 2001 I immigrated to Australia and worked for Centrelink as a psychologist for a number of years. I also worked on a part-time voluntary basis at Newlife Care.

In 2010 I decided to establish a psychology clinic in Burleigh Heads at the Burleigh Heads Pilates Boutique.

I have a special interest in the area of Depression in general and intend researching the impact of physical exercise on mental health, and in particular how exercise can assist patients in their recovery from depression.

Cost of sessions:

 $100.00 per session

Bulk billing rates are available based on financial circumstances

Please note:

In most cases you can obtain a referral through a GP and then you can claim for sessions under Medicare.

It is also possible to obtain psychology sessions through private health funds.
